As you might imagine, running for office has its ups and downs. But when you get a wonderful unsolicited endorsement from a dear friend, it can be very humbling. I’m a bit shy about even posting this, but my campaign manager says I must. Here’s a sweet note from a woman I became friends with when our daughters were Besties in fifth grade.
“Enthusiastic Edie Hooton is the right person for the State House. I had the privilege of meeting her eight years ago. She is an amazing mother, wife and a friend who is super dedicated to her family and friends. Politics is her passion. I know first hand that Edie Hooton can, and will generate positive changes in our community and our world; because she made a huge difference in my children’s life. Several years ago, I lost my sales job for a major airline, and I couldn’t find work. It was like someone turned off the lights in my life. I experienced a lot of dark days that I wanted to just throw in the towel, because I didn’t know how I was going to make it. I’m a praying person, and I know God put Edie Hooton in my path. She has a generous heart for people. My car broke down, I had children in high school, junior high, and elementary school all in one year. I needed transportation badly! Without any hesitation, she made it possible for me to replace my car. My children and I will be forever grateful to her. Edie Hooton didn’t stop there. Many times, she’s been there for my family. I could go on an on about how wholehearted, devoted, committed, loyal, zealous and true to the very end she will be as: Edie Hooton for the State House. Super Amazing Edie Hooton, she is the RIGHT PERSON to vote for!”
